Engine and computer diagnostics near Cutler Bay

A check engine light is a code, not a diagnosis. We read the computer codes, test the engine and find what is actually causing the problem, then give you a free estimate for the repair.

Signs it's time

  • The check engine light is on, or flashing.
  • Rough idle, misfires or a loss of power.
  • Hard starts, or the engine cranks but won't start.
  • Worse fuel economy than usual.

How the diagnosis goes

  1. Scan

Read the stored codes and live data from the car's computer.

  2. Test

Check the parts and systems the codes point to.

  3. Explain

Tell you what we found and what it means for the car.

  4. Free estimate

You get the repair estimate before any work starts.

About pricing

The repair depends on what the diagnosis finds, so we do not publish prices. The repair estimate is free; ask about the diagnostic when you call.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I keep driving with the check engine light on?

If the light is steady and the car drives normally, usually yes, for a short time. If it is flashing, slow down and get it checked right away: a flashing light usually means a misfire that can damage the catalytic converter.

Can a loose gas cap turn the light on?

It can. Tighten the cap and drive normally for a few days. If the light stays on, have the codes read.

What is a computer diagnostic?

Modern cars store fault codes in the engine computer. A scan tool reads them and shows live sensor data, which tells the technician where testing should start.
